Graphic novelist, writer, and artist, Kathleen Bergen has managed to produce a work that is both tender and bold. A story of a young crow who wants to experience humanity simply for the sake of greater perspective. His/her wish is granted and with it comes all of the burdens and joys of what it is to be truly human. With a brushstroke as delicate as her prose, Bergan’s watercolour illustrations echo the sublime works of masters such as Hayao Miyazaki and Charles Vess.
