Blaise Moritz

Blaise Moritz is a poet and artist living in Toronto. He is the author of two previous books of poems, Zeppelin (Nightwood Editions, 2013) and Crown and Ribs (Fitzhenry and Whiteside, 2007). His work has appeared widely in Canadian literary journals including The Malahat Review, The Fiddlehead, The Antigonish Review, and Vallum, and was included in the Speculative Literature issue of Descant. Since June 2019, he has produced The Test, a monthly visual poetry comic that has ranged from a long engagement with Jack Kirby’s late career editorials to illustrations of Eugenio Montale’s prose poems. Issue 17, the final issue of the sequence “An Affliction of the Eyes”, was shortlisted for Best Comics Zine in the 2021 Broken Pencil Zine Awards.
