Sophie Yendole

Sophie Yendole is a Vancouver maker of poems, books, plays and stories. Sophie trained at UBC as an actor and her unique career path includes acting, writing, dramaturgy, directing dance/theatre and collaborating, as poet, with visual and textile artists and musicians. Her recent collaborations have culminated in original poetry performances at The Cultch, The Notional Space, Backspace and the Shack(ART)Collective. Her dance/theatre directing work has travelled internationally and won multiple awards. Sophie’s combined work in the arts, social justice and education have led her to residencies with the Banff Centre, the Vancouver School Board and most recently a small non-profit within the vibrant inclusion community. Sophie’s passion for narrative has led to her latest work as a substantive editor with At Bay Press, editing Sarah Donaher’s exciting upcoming collection Pistachios in Her Pocket.
